A/W 2011 Trends | Navajo

New Natives – the Navajo-inspired trend on the A/W catwalks…

There was a distinctly Native American/Navajo feel to the tribal prints seen on the Autumn/Winter catwalks. We take a look at our favourites…

Capes, ponchos, fringing and Navajo-inspired patterns were key features for many designers, with Isabel Marant going completely gung ho on the theme. We loved the brightly coloured, patchwork cape at Chloé and the vibrant patterns in L.A.M.B.’s A/W collection. This New Native look is the new way to do boho.

(L-R): Isabel Marant; Celine; Proenza Schouler; Chloé; Isabel Marant.

(L-R): Pringle of Scotland; Balmain; L.A.M.B.; Balmain; Band of Outsiders.

Things we want to include in our wardrobes now include fringed boots and patterned knitwear à la Marant and a cosy poncho as seen at Band of Outsiders. Also nice to see that we might get another winter out of last year’s cape.
