We do some beauty recon on Australian brand BECCA Cosmetics..

It’s always exciting when we find a beauty brand we haven’t come across before, giving us lots of new products to try and evaluate, and the latest brand we’re doing recon on is BECCA Cosmetics. An Australian brand, BECCA, has been in the UK for some time now and is not new to Ireland, having been here before but in a sporadic fashion, seems it’s now slowly creeping its way back into the Irish market.

Founded by Make-Up Artist Rebecca Williams of Perth in Western Australia, who at a very young age got inspired by the flawless and beautiful skin of the models and actresses on the ramp and fashion magazines. Says Williams “My search for the ‘perfect foundation’ became a mission that was to prove as elusive as the search for the Holy Grail!” Frustrated by her inability to find the perfect foundation, one that would look natural, conceal blemishes, feel weightless on the skin and stay fresh all day, she set out to create it herself. And so BECCA Cosmetics was born.

The BECCA line has now evolved to a full range of skin-perfecting products  and with celebrity fans like Kate Moss, Yasmin Le Bon, Victoria Beckham, Kylie Minogue, Reece Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow and Mary Kate Olsen, to name just a few, we can see why this brand is worth taking a look at.

We’ve tried and tested some of BECCA’s collection including the latest Lost Weekend Collection and here’s some of our favourites so far.

Jewel Dust Eyeshadow Pot €25
These adorable chunky little powder pots add playful colour to the eyes when worn alone, and create rich, exotic tones when layered over neutral eye shadows. With 12 shades to choose from these really make your eyes pop with colour.

Beach Tint €25
Beach Tint is a blendable crème stain for cheeks and lips that suits all skin types. Kiss-proof and water-resistant, it dries to a perfect, streak-free, non-greasy and non-drying finish. Comes in 6 shades and is a great handbag addition for quick fixes.

Sheer Tint Lip Colour €28
A collection of sheer, hydrating lipsticks with subtle shine in a palette of tones, BECCA’s Sheer Tint Lip Colour contains a cocktail of emollients and antioxidants such as Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Honey and Vitamin E, to moisturise and protect the lips and gives a smooth, even application of creamy colour.

Mineral Bronzing Highlighter Duo €48
Possibly our favourite product in the range this mineral highlighter duo is lightweight and a little goes a long way. Dresses your skin with a bronzy, candle lit glow with a matte light bronze on one side and soft flesh-toned shimmer on the other. Gives a really healthy sunkissed look and minimizes flaws by deflecting unflattering light.

Luminous Skin Colour €48
A combination tinted moisturizer and sheer foundation, Luminous Skin Colour visibly improves the complexion, yet it looks incredibly natural on the skin. Offers skincare, makeup, and sun protection in one product and contains anti-oxidant vitamins, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic ingredients with a broad spectrum SPF 25+.
