Topping a growing list of must see acts for this year’s Castlepalooza 2012, stylesiren favourite, DOGS.

It’s been a year since we first heard the strains of ‘Underbeats’ while on a wander in Castlepalooza last year, an immediately hooky tune that lured us in and 12 months later has ensured we are avid followers (not stalkers) of Dublin band DOGS.

The was one of the sets to remember from last year’s Castlepalooza and at that stage the band were only in their infancy, having formed in the Spring of 2011, Castlepalooza was only their second gig. Since then they’ve played the Sugar Club, Twisted Pepper, The Grand Social on numerous occasions and released a rake of new stellar tunes and videos.

We’ve described Dogs before as having a perfect blend of electro beats and guitars, they go from soft ambient melodies to dirty bass driven tracks all tempered with some seriously powerful vocals. Throw in some high impact video sequences as a backdrop and you’ve got yourself a killer live set. Here’s hoping that when they hit the Deezer Stage on Sunday at 4.30pm, it’ll be another Castlepalooza memory to be savoured.
