Golden Globes 2012 Style Review
The fashion hits and misses from the red carpet at this year’s Golden Globes.
We’ve got our judgey hats on again – let’s have a look at the style from last night’s Golden Globes, shall we?
The Hits
We’re usually bored to tears with Angelina Jolie’s style choices but she really surprised us last night by going all fashion-forwardy in Atelier Versace. Well played.
New kid on the block, Rooney Mara looked typically gothy and fabulous in Nina Ricci.
Jessica Alba looked stunning in a lavender Gucci number and understated accessories.
‘Homeland’ star, Claire Danes rocked a monochromatic J. Mendel dress with an embellished back.
Salma Hayek showed off her assets in a sumptuous Gucci frock.
Charlize Theron made an entrance in a dramatic, pale pink Dior Couture gown. Loved the cute hairband.
Oozing oldschool glamour, Kate Winslet looked stunning in monochrome silk.
Another unusual fashion choice from Michelle Williams but we loved her Jason Wu number.
How good does Emma Stone look? Loving the whole ensemble, the colour really makes her eyes pop.
It’s a bit mermaidy and a bit feathery but strangely it works – ‘Mildred Pierce’ star Rachel Evan Wood in Gucci.
We loved the simplicity of Reese Witherspoon’s look – a fishtail hem Zac Posen gown and undone hair.
Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland looked beautiful in flattering vintage D&G.
Loved the detailing on Dianna Agron’s striking Giles Deacon dress.
Despite it being a lil bit bride-y and possibly a bit too sheer, Jessica Biel still made it onto our hitlist in Elie Saab.
The Mehs
Mila Kunis, we heart you, we really do, but this is just a tad boring. A black dress? Again?
Kate Beckinsale in Cavalli. Didn’t love it, didn’t hate it, just meh.
Other than the odd side-bustle thing, there’s not much to comment on with Natalie Portman’s outfit.
The Misses
Zooey Deschanel in custom made Prada. Shudder. On the bright side, we loved her tuxedo nail art.
We usually heart Tilda Swinton’s style but last night’s Jil Sander ensemble did nothing for us.
Amanda Peet in a toilet-roll-cover-esque number.
A super unflattering Prada dress was what Freida Pinto went with. We don’t know why either.
