Top 10 Beauty Loves of 2011
Stylesiren’s Top 10 Beauty Loves of 2011.
There’s been plenty of beauty products we’ve loved in 2011, in fact it’s been tough to decided from all the creams, fragrances, lotions and potions that have delighted us.
However, when it comes to the ones that stood out, the ones we shared with friends and family, these are the top ten that have earned a permanent place on our shelves and that we can’t live without.
In no particular order…
ModelCo Fibre Lashes €39
These spread around the stylesiren camp like wildfire, within weeks we were all out there batting lashes to die for at anything that moved. Now, almost a year later ModelCo’s amazing fibre lashes are still a must have when it comes to my make up routine. So simple to apply, it’s just like putting on your mascara but the effects are instant, a double application for a night out is a must. One Fibre Lash kit will last a long time as well, which makes them a winner in the value for money stakes. Anyone who’s tried these is an instant convert.
Catrice Infinite Matt Foundation €6.99
Being someone who’s lucky enough to test and try all kinds of foundations from every price range, this year I was amazed to find that Catrice’s Infinite Matt Foundation is a serious contender on the market. This 18 hour, velvety smooth, oil free little genius is, simply put, one of the best foundations I’ve ever used. And it’s only €6.99. Boom!
Schwarzkopf Osis+ Style Shifters €9.95
These new Style Shifters, the first range of spray-able hair texturisers are perfect for people on the go. Easily portable to throw in your bag they’ll set a style exactly as you want it, change your mind? No biggie, you can remould without fuss. They come in three different strengths for every hair length, everything you need for hair styling in one bottle.
Benefit Hervana Face Powder
This is one you’ll have to wait for as it doesn’t hit Irish beauty counters until early 2012, take our word for it though, you’ll want to be first in line when it does. A combination of four shades, lucky shell, divine peach, heavenly rose and berry delight, blend together perfectly to give the most adorable natural blush to your face. Never over done, it’s such a natural finish to your look you’ll see quickly why we love it.
La Roche Posay Thermal Spring Water
This has been a godsend throughout the year for me for everything from soothing burns and rashes to cooling down in intense summer heat. The unique combination of minerals and trace elements give La Roche-Posay thermal spring water soothing capabilities as well as softening and anti-oxidant properties.
Lush Dirty Spray €15.75
This is supposedly a spray for men, I’ve hijacked it completely though as it’s so fresh and fragrant it instantly makes me feel good when I use it. Great as a daytime body spray and was perfect for Festival season, it’s quickly become my signature scent and I couldn’t count the amount of times I’ve been complimented on it’s smell.
Becca Cosmetics Mineral Bronzing Highlighting Duo €48
A recent addition to my make up collection but quickly one of my favourites this mineral highlighter duo from Aussie brand Becca Cosmetics is lightweight and a little goes a long way. Dresses your skin with a bronzy, candle lit glow with a matte light bronze on one side and soft flesh-toned shimmer on the other. Gives a really healthy sunkissed look and minimizes flaws by deflecting unflattering light.
MooGoo Udder Cream
We’re a sensitive little lot at stylesiren so when we first heard of MooGoo, a brand specialising in skincare of a delicate nature, we couldn’t wait to try it. MooGoo Udder Cream was originally used by dairy farmers to keep udders in good condition, but worked so well as a moisturiser that Aussie brand MooGoo bottled it, made some improvements, and added some skin repair superstars.
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure €8.95
There are two things we love about Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure range launched this year. Firstly, it’s a complete 5 step salon manicure in one little bottle, genius. Secondly, the selection of colours in the range would make a girls toes curl with delight. Pedal to the Metal, Plums the Word, Commander in Chic, Back to the Fuschia, Yellow Kitty, Gray by Gray, just some of our favourites although with 36 different shades you can find something to suit any mood. Calypso Blue is still my absolute favourite though.
Redken Extreme Shampoo €16 & Conditioner €18
I’m a big fan of all Redken hair products, the Colour Extend Sun range was perfect in the summer months, but for all round excellent hair care Redken’s Extreme range especially the Shampoo & Conditioner is my No. 1 choice for maintaining great hair.
