Topshop A/W 2012 Preview

A first look at Topshop’s collection for Autumn/Winter 2012.

We’re always excited to get a look at what Topshop has in store for the coming season and this Autumn/Winter doesn’t disappoint. We’ll be having some Scandi-style knits, tartan trousers and a couple of lacy slips to layer up for autumn please…

Scandinavian
Ooh but we love this look. Cosy textures with soft shearlings and fluffy faux fur are layered with autumnal florals and hang-off-your-shoulder knits in ice-pale shades for this Scandi look.

Throw in a bit of neon pink (looks great on those Viking blondes), some pinafore dresses and style it up with ankle boots and braids for perfect Nordic style. Particularly heart the dark floral details on the black knit dress below.

Pennsylvanian
The Pennsylvanian look is a perfect mix of mannish tailoring and girly details. Think ditsy prints, pretty gingham and lace slips and dresses teamed with oversized jackets and shirts, all worn with chunky work boots or Docs.

Sensationalist
Topshop’s Sensationalist, as the name suggests, is all about making a statement. Jewel-encrusted shirts and metallic snakeskin tailoring mix casual with dressy while plain black ensembles get jazzed up with stud-embellishment. Throw in some sequins and a splash of dominatrix and you’ve got the look down.

Factory Girl
Take Edie Sedgwick and Quadrophenia for your style references for this sixties-inspired, mod look. The monochrome knits and tartan skinnies will work well with your brogues or creepers, while feminine boucle twin sets soften up the trend. Big love for tartan, houndstooth and bomber jackets for autumn.
