Year of the Dragon | Kildare Village App

Kildare Village are celebrating the Chinese Year of the Dragon in style with a smartphone app, the “Chic Dragon”, themed entertainment and a chance to win a €500 shopping spree.

Kildare Village are really getting into the spirit of the Chinese New Year with the release of an iPhone app as well as a comp and festive entertainment in the Village itself over the weekend of 28th and 29th January.

Free to download from the App Store and the Android Market, the Chic Dragon app features an animated dragon that dances across the user’s smartphone screen – just scan the code seen on the Kildare Village website or the posters around the Village and watch the dragon come to life on your screen. Kildare Village have also created a video featuring a dragon flying through the Village, which you can view on their website and be in with the chance to win a €500 shopping spree.

The pedestrian streets of Kildare Village will also be decorated in Chinese themes and complimentary fortune cookies will be given out in the boutiques, restaurants and the tourist information centre from Friday 27th until Sunday 29th January.

To really get you in the spirit, over the weekend there will be a number of traditional and contemporary entertainment acts in the Village like vibrant Lion and Dragon Dance displays, Tai Chi workshops and Kung Fu performances.
